National Account Manager – Confectionery – Retail

One of Europe’s most successful manufacturers of branded, private label and licensed Confectionery are seeking a high calibre National Account Manager to develop their business within the retail channel. Within the UK the business turnover is in excess £30m they have a strong presence across the Grocery Multiple, High-Street and Wholesale channels. The business holds a leading position in its respective category, remains highly profitable, and has enjoyed extensive growth for several consecutive years.

Role

As a National Account Manager, you will be responsible for the strategic growth of a number of retail customers including; Sainsbury’s, Co-Op, Next, Matalan and Dunelm. Reporting into the Commercial Director you will also work very closely with the NPD team to profitably drive the account. As an entrepreneurial business they operate a highly autonomous working environment, giving their employees the independence to make decisions. You will have full P&L responsibility and will develop a joint business plans whilst ensuring delivery of agreed KPI’s.

Requirements

To be considered for this role you must be a driven and dynamic individual with a proven track record of building long term trading relationships with retail customers. You will be currently operating at National Account Manager or Senior National Account Manager level. As for product background, the ideal candidate will come from an impulse product sector such as Confectionery, Snacking or Soft Drinks. Experience with branded and private label food products is essential.

From a location perspective, the contract is home based.
