Our client is a globally renowned supplier of fine foods, sourcing the highest quality products and ingredients from around the world. Their diverse range includes luxury items such as truffles, caviar, foie gras, premium chocolate, charcuterie, and fresh produce, among many others. By fostering strong partnerships with their suppliers, they deliver an exceptional selection of fresh, frozen, and ambient products to some of the UK’s most prestigious establishments.
Their customers include 4- and 5-star hotels, Michelin-starred restaurants, national foodservice operators, and premium retailers such as Harrods and Selfridges. Within the UK, they are recognised as a market leader and the supplier of choice for luxury food products.
Following significant growth and continued investment, the business has created an exciting new opportunity to further expand their presence across Hampshire, Surrey, and Sussex.
The Role
As a Business Development Manager, you will play a key role in driving profitable growth across an established customer base while identifying and securing new business opportunities. Your responsibilities will include:
- Account Management: Strengthening relationships with existing customers, including high-end hospitality clients such as Michelin-starred restaurants, luxury hotels, and premium foodservice businesses.
- New Business Development: Proactively targeting and acquiring new customers in the region, ensuring alignment with the company’s strategic growth objectives.
- Collaboration: Working closely with internal Sales and Technical teams to ensure the highest levels of service and support for customers.
- Market Expertise: Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of the fine food market and identifying trends and opportunities to maximise sales potential.
The Candidate
The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated and results-driven sales professional with a passion for premium-quality foods. You will have:
- A proven track record in business development within the food industry.
- Experience in a field-based sales role, selling to foodservice customers, ideally in high-end hospitality.
- A background in food and beverage products, with a strong understanding of the needs and expectations of luxury establishments.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- A self-starting attitude, with the ability to work autonomously and manage your territory effectively.
Location
This is a home-based, field sales role covering Hampshire, Surrey, and Sussex. The successful candidate will ideally reside south of London, with easy access to these regions.
The Package
- Salary: £40,000–£45,000
- Bonus: £8,000 performance-based bonus
- Benefits: Company car, pension scheme & 34 days holiday
