Head of Fruit & Veg – Premium Foodservice
Based in London. Salary: Highly competitive basic, £8,000 bonus & benefits.
Our client is a global purveyor and distributor of fine food from around the world – they source the highest quality food products and ingredients available, from truffles to caviar, foie gras to chocolate, plus many more delicacies. Through close partnerships with their suppliers, they deliver the highest quality of fresh, frozen and ambient products to the finest dining establishments such as 4- & 5-star hotels, Michelin-starred restaurants and premium retailers such as Harrods and Selfridges.
Their Sales team are dedicated to developing opportunities and delivering quality – both in the representation of brands and delivering the best service to our customers.
Following significant growth and investment in a new product area, they have created a new position to help further develop their fresh produce business unit.
As Head of Fruit & Veg you will be responsible for achieving targeted sales growth and smooth running for the Fresh Produce category. Reporting into the Sales and Marketing Director you will lead a team (Sales, Purchasing and Operations) dedicated to delivering the highest quality products and service to customers. Key customers within the portfolio include fine dining establishments, 4- & 5-star hotels, Michelin Star restaurants and premium retailers. You will identify new business opportunities and grow the product offering using your knowledge of the category and current market trends.
To be considered for this role you will have a minimum of 3-5 years’ experience operating within the Fresh Produce industry. You will have experience of growing and developing sales as well as a good understanding of product sourcing and a reasonable technical knowledge. You will be required to lead, set up a structure, create the process to work together with the buying and selling team, it is also essential you have an understanding of the Foodservice customer channels.
